Equity, Diversity & Inclusion: The 35//50 Initiative
Our Response
The Thousand Faces Festival publicly supports and commits to the 35//50 Initiative. We would like to thank the Co-Contributors of the Initiative for including us in this important call to action. The Thousand Faces Festival has been celebrating the myths and stories at the roots of Edmonton's many cultures through theatre, music, dance, and other arts since 2012. We proudly align ourselves with the many Organizations and Festivals who have committed to this Initiative.
The Thousand Faces Festival's administrative, production, and creative staff and artists have and will continue to reflect the landscape of Edmonton's richly diverse cultural scene. The 35//50 Initiative includes the notion that all organizations involved with meet a minimum requirement of 35% IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, People of Colour) and 50% Women or Non-Binary people in paid, professional positions.
The Thousand Faces Festival commits to fulfilling this necessary industry-standard starting at our 2022 Festival and beyond. The Thousand Faces Festival has and will forever continue to uphold the belief that IBPOC Lives and Art Matter.
