Frequently asked questions

How does it work?

The Thousand Faces Festival will bring the party to you! Our TYA shows are ready to hit the road, complete with professional actors, costumes, tech, and props. Most of our shows can be performed in a variety of spaces, such as music rooms, gyms, and large classrooms. You pick the date and your performance time. We make an effort to ensure that our performances fit into a standard school timetable block.

What do we need from you?

Our artists need a couple of things to keep their shows running smoothly:
1. A 'stage' space that’s at least 20’ by 20’ (Please contact us to discuss) 2. A performance space that can accomodate seating for your students on chairs or mats. We sometimes ask that the school set up the seating arrangement prior to our arrival based on a provided diagram.
3. A power outlet for a speaker to be plugged into 4. Multiple power outlets for lighting equipment to be plugged into
5. A space where actors can change into their costumes
6. Access to the performance space 60-90 minutes before the show is scheduled to start

How much does it cost?

We strive to make our shows available by donation or for free. Our mission is to ensure no group is turned away from these performances. Considerable financial assistance is available.

Who is it sutiable for?

Suitable for Grades 1-PhD!

How do you accept payment?

At this time, the Thousand Faces Festival Assocation does not accept e-transfer or credit payments. All payments must be made by cheque.

Are you a registered Vendor with Edmonton Public Schools?

Do you offer workshops for students?

If you are interested in booking a workshop in addition to your performance please contact us at for further details. Our Workshops are an engaging hands on arts learning experience that cover diverse topics and activities to spark your students’ sense of adventure.

Are there talkbacks following the performance?

Following performances, actors will be available to answer questions from students. This is all pending on how our shows fit into your timetable and how much time there will be following the conclusion of the performance.

How many students can see the performance?

We've performed for classrooms of 20 students and gymnasiums of up to 200 students. If you have multiple groups interested in the show, there is a possibility we can do multiple performances at your school. Prior to our visit we will discuss with you the best set-up of your space using the resources you have to maximize the theatre experience for your students.

Do you only tour to schools?

If you are not a school group and are interested in our show, please contact us! We have toured to seniors' homes and centres in past years.
